The Development Alternatives and Resource Center (DARC) is a non-governmental organization (NGO), established in 1999 with the mission to build the capacity of development institutions. DARC was registered in 1999 with Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Nigeria, under the companies and allied matters, Decree No.1, 1990 (Part C-Incorporated Trustees).

To become a center of excellence providing quality trainings for the development institutions in West African sub-region.
Over the years, DARC continues to play an intermediary role with donor agencies, this seeks to promote mutually beneficial partnerships between NGOs, government, and the private sector. DARC has successfully completed projects in different fields, including Governance, Non-profit Administration, Philanthropy, Public Procurement, Health, Education, Micro-finance, Insurance, finance, Arts & Culture, ICT and more. DARC has also had the privilege of working with several non-governmental and community based organizations to improve their institutional capacity; with support from institutions such as the Ford Foundation; Board Source Washington D.C; the World Bank; Consultative Group to Assist the Poor (CGAP); the Department for International Development (DFID); Partnership for Transparency Fund (PTF) Washington DC; International Labour Organization (ILO), Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the MTN Foundation.
